The CRA needs an administrator

One day per week £25k pro rata
Deadline for applications: 4 September 2009

The CRA is an alliance of UK organisations, established in October 2000, representing creators – authors and performers of all kinds. It lobbies on behalf of its members for a reform of moral rights, the introduction of regulation of authors’ contracts to ensure that they are fair, and reforms relating to litigation and remedies.

The role is to run the secretariat and to assist in lobbying and campaigning and would suit a self-employed administrator.

The administrator will liaise between the Chair and committee members and be responsible for: composing letters; writing and editing press releases; responding to mail, email and telephone messages; co-ordinating committee meetings and recording minutes for distribution to committee members; and doing a minimal amount of book-keeping.

The work can be done remotely but CRA meetings and most lobbying meetings are in central London and the Alliance cannot offer travel expenses.

The position is offered on a freelance/self-employed contract, for one day per week until mid-2010, with the possibility of renewal in future years. Depending on the evolution of the CRA's work, more days may be offered.

Appliants shouldhave a proven track-record of administration, good face-to-face communication and text editing skills, patience and flexibility.

Desirable skills: research experience and campaigning experience.
