Freelance profile
Helen Clifton
I write about social issues, regeneration, buildings and lifestyles, covering Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester. I have worked as a reporter for weekly newspapers in Manchester for over two years, this year winning the silver category in the Newspaper Society's Free Weekly Newspaper of the Year award. I recently coordinated and wrote Making Childhood Matter, a supplement for development charity ActionAid and the Big Issue. I am currently working on a year-long series of health articles for MEN Media's stable of weekly newspapers, and am available to cover news shifts as well as commissioned articles.
