Rachel Hamada
Based in Zanzibar, I cover East and Southern Africa as a freelancer. I specialise in travel, cultural and social features but can also do news if required. I am also managing editor of Mambo, the online magazine for Zanzibar that will launch mid to late 2010. Before freelancing, I worked as assistant editor at Holyrood magazine, Scotland's main political magazine. I have also worked for the Edinburgh Evening News, the Economist Group, ZDNet and EL Gazette, covering subjects from business to education to technology. I have a degree in politics from Cambridge and a Postgrad Diploma in Journalism from City University.
