Based in Paris since 1991, I am the author of An Hour From Paris (Pallas Athene 2002, revised 2008, reprinted 2010, 2011, 2013), a guide to 20 little-known daytrips within an hour of Paris by train. I have written feature articles for several national newspapers on travel, in and around Paris and elsewhere, restaurants, yoga, bird-watchers, sailing and dancing. I am particularly interested in exploring off-beat corners of the city and the countryside by public transport and in cultural differences in general.
