I am a freelance health, sailing and social affairs journalist, with clients in the UK and the US. I write online SEO and content as a core part of my work. I have recently co-written a book and published another in 2006. With an MA in broadcast journalism I make a well mixed podcast too. I run a social media campaign for a Dorset based political campaign group.

I run the Dorset People’s Assembly Facebook Page which has around 190 Likes to date, of which 45 people regularly make monthly meetings in Dorchester.
Books
Men’s Mental Health Manual (2014) Men’s Health Foundation. Have co-written this piece, which aims to spell out mental health and wellness for the lay audience. Due for publication later this year.
Giving Voice to the Inner Scream (2006) Chipmunka Publishing. An investigation into the stigma of mental illness within and without the mental health system.
Previous employment
1993-94 – SSV Rose – crew aboard a 200 ft replica of an American War of Independence era British warship. Sailed across the Great Lakes, SE Canada and as far south as New York over 12 months. Learned to hand, reef and steer as well as a number of other life skills I hold to this day.
Training
2006 – MA in Broadcast Journalism, University College Falmouth. Broadcast Journalism Training Council accredited course.
1997 - BSc (Hons) in Maritime Studies, Solent University. Specialised in maritime leisure management and maritime safety.
Hobbies
Sailing – currently a member of Stewartby Sailing Club in Bedfordshire. Sail every weekend on my racing dinghy.
Gardening and community work. Working with Marsh Farm Outreach in an attempt to people from a sink estate in Luton financially self sufficient. Currently working on setting up a business making jams and chutneys from fruit growing on road verges, public parks and abandoned orchards.
