Stuart Forster is a features writer, journalist and photographer.

He was named Journalist of the Year at the Holland Press Awards 2015, 2016 & 2019 for his body of work on the Netherlands and Dutch culture. In 2020 he was named Travel Writer of the Decade at the Netherlands Press Awards

In 2017 he was awarded a BACTA (British Annual Canada Travel Award) for Best Online Coverage.

Stuart specialises in travel and food and drink, running the blog Go Eat Do and taking on commissions from newspapers and magazines in the UK and abroad.

Stuart has trained as a photographer. In 2009 one of his photos was included in the NUJ's Photography Matters exhibition, which showcased some of the best photographs by NUJ members around the world.

From 2004 to 2009 he was based in Bangalore, India. Stuart can offer expert insights into living abroad and aspects of Indian culture. He contributed to the guidebooks Kerala (2006, Stark World Publishing), Bengaluru and Karnataka (2008, Stark World Publishing) and Driving Holidays Across India (2009, Outlook Traveller Getaways), which was named best travel publication in English at India's 2010 National Tourism Awards.

His photographs have been published in books including:

His work was included in The Irresponsible Traveller book, published in 2014 by Bradt and featuring contributions from authors including Michael Palin, Dervla Murphy and Ben Fogle.

His personal blog, Go Eat Do, was named among the UK's top 50 food blogs in 2015 and was shortlisted for three major awards.

Stuart is based in the north-east of England and is a director of Why Eye Photography.
