Extra information:

I am a regular contributor to several outdoor magazines. I also write a weekly walking column for three regional newspapers and a monthly outdoor advice column for an evening title in the north of England. I have had travel features published in The Sydney Morning Herald, Scanorama (SAS’s inflight magazine), The Scotsman, the News & Star and several other publications. I was editor/compiler of TripAdvisor’s Summer Travel Guides (2006) for the Amalfi Coast, Cote D’Azur, London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Paris.

I also do a lot of work for conservation and tourism bodies, researching and writing walks leaflets and interpretation panels. My clients in this area have included Scottish Natural Heritage, North Pennines AONB, Eden Rivers Trust and East Cumbria Countryside Project. If clients require a words, pictures and design package, I work closely with a trusted illustrator and designer to create eye-catching and informative leaflets, booklets etc.

My books include Cadogan Britain: The Lake District (due 2010); Easy Rambles Around Keswick and Borrowdale (Questa Publishing, 2008); Easy Rambles Around Grasmere and Borrowdale (Questa Publishing, 2008); and Walk! The Lake District North (Discovery Walking Guides, 2006). I was a major contributor to Crimson Publishing's The Best of Britain: The Lake District (2008).
