Freelance profile
Sandra Stafford
I write for publishers, businesses, local councils and universities. I also develop raw manuscripts/text for less experienced authors. I have been published in consumer magazines and books, a well-known children's encyclopaedia, lifestyle and entertainment publications, educational materials (online and hard copy) and trade journals. I have written regularly for blogs and a news agency. As an editor, I work for high-profile academic and education publishers, developing content for publication. I also copy-edit and proofread. I am a hard worker with much writing/publishing experience, happy to turn my hand to jobs large or small.

Extra information:
I have worked full time in publishing since the early 1980s. I cut my journalistic teeth on magazine work, thoroughly learning all the production and editorial processes in a conventional setting before becoming deputy editor of a monthly consumer magazine on music.
Then, after an in-house spell on trade mags, I decided to go freelance, which provided the opportunity to write for and edit a range of journals and books, as well as work with non-publishing organisations needing writing and editing expertise.
Being freelance has allowed me to broaden my scope in terms of subject matter and printed/online media. As you might imagine, I am used to working to tight deadlines and thinking/writing creatively to fill or shorten word counts.
