I am a freelance journalist with over 15 years newsgathering experience. During this time I have covered various humanitarian issues and conflicts, including the 9 months operation to liberate Mosul from the so-called Islamic State, the civil war in Syria, the Beirut port explosion, the Libyan refugee crisis, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and most recently the 20-year anniversary of the fall of the Baathist regime in Iraq. I have extensive contacts across Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Ukraine, and other hostile environments in the Middle East and Europe regions and also provided fixing, logistical, and advisory support and training to other correspondents and teams.
